Wii kicking the negative stereotypes of gaming

“Before we had the Wii, I thought video games were totally useless and mindless, but our favourite game is Big Brain Academy. The kids love being able to beat us at it.” - Kelly Bearne, family doctor

It is great that people are learning that video games aren’t horrible like they thought they were, but there are still a couple problems. First off, how are people forming these opinions when they know nothing about video games? Second, I guess the other platforms like DS, 360 and any other game console, still have the negative stereotypes tied to them, since they don’t involve motion control/movement. Covering video games for a couple years has really proven to me that people are more than willing to formulate a strong opinion on a topic, no matter how little they actually know on the subject.
