CES 2008: LittleBigPlanet may get R-rated content

More developments are coming in from the CES 2008 show floor. After spilling the beans about emoticons, Fluff, and the side-scrolling nature of LittleBigPlanet, Kyle Shubel clued in on another thing we could expect from the upcoming cutesy-wutesy "casual" game: R-rated content. What? Were you actually surprised? Apparently, the Media Molecule team is already expecting it. What with the "sandlot customization" nature of the game - which allows you to create all sorts of Sackboy avatars, as seen in the concept art above - Kyle Shubel mentioned that some people might go too far and create R-rated content.

To counterbalance this, the team might have to resort to imposing parental controls so that children who might be playing the game won't encounter lewd images when connecting online. They're also thinking of putting a rating system for user-generated stages in the game. Well, better parental controls than totally hindering people's creative juices to flow, I guess.
