Call it a horribly unsettling trend, but Call of Duty 4 has managed to overtake Halo 3 in Xbox Live stats not once, but twice in three weeks. Considering the title is anything but brand spanking new, the dust seems to be settling over the past few months, and like usually expected, Halo 3 doesn’t seem to be reigning at the top. Here are the top ten titles last week according to Major Nelson.

Naturally on the standard definition side of things, Halo 2 as always reigns supreme, but it really is extremely interesting to see Halo 3, still relatively in its infancy, so easily overtaken twice. Halo 2 will forever be the number one original Xbox title, but it really is hard to say at this point if Microsoft’s number one franchise will do the same at the end of the lifecycle of the 360.
