Recently received an email from Blizzard saying that they've caught you selling in-game items (even if you haven't) and are further demanding your private data? Careful there - you just might be the latest victim of an email scam that's just been reported over at the World of Warcraft forums.
This scam was initially reported by player Huntarded, whose friend was the recipient of the email. According to the email message, if the player was unable to reply to Blizzard with their personal info, the game GMs would close their game account permanently.
After some checking, Huntarded notes that the email was fake, and is now sending out a general warning to anybody else who may have received it. Nethaera dropped by the thread to further clarify that a Blizzard employee will never ask for your password (or other private data for that matter).
If you happen to have encountered a new scam that you don't know how to handle, you'll want to visit Blizzard's Customer Service Forum, via the source link below.
