Big List of WoW Links is Online

2008-04-30 00:13:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

...gamers, and the occasional humor or opinion post. However, the lens format doesn't allow for projects such as a big list of WoW links to be easily indexed. So, I've created a Squidoo lens with a nice fat list of WoW links for anyone to bookmark, so that they have a good resource to check when searching for information The links found on the...

The Alt Bug is Nibbling at My Toes

2008-04-29 05:20:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

Is it time for me to break out Joana's Guide again, or perhaps Brian Kopp's I've already lamented the fact that in order to pimp out my PVE toons, I'll need to collect hundreds of Badges of Justice . Gearing up the Warrior for PVP is yet another time consuming grind, though I'm going about it very casually I've decided to retire my Hunter and...

Pimping My Mage in 2.4

2008-04-23 07:51:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

I've been taking a long, hard look at what's out there for my mage since patch 2.4 came out. I've been playing with the same crafted epics and PVP rewards, with a few raid drops (because there aren't that many raid drops that are upgrades when you're just starting into SSC and TK) for several months Stepping into TK, I realized, hey, lack of...

I don't need no stinking badges!

2008-04-08 22:35:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

Well, I tallied up all of the 2.4 badge loot I'd like to get for my characters My Warrior (as of now) and my Druid are strictly PVP characters, so I don't need much for them, just the PVP cloaks for 60 badges each My Mage is my main raiding character. If I decked him out in the new badge gear, he'd gain some INT and STA but lose actual DPS...

WoW 2.4 Patch Thoughts

2008-04-03 00:47:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

Patch 2.4 is here, so it's probably time for me to ramble on with my latest WoW thoughts. I'm going to try to get back to this blog a bit more, but I'm also working on another project to organize WoW information for the casual players out there, so it may be hit or miss Guess I'll start with Patch 2.4, or as I like to call it patch...

Heroics: Lowering the Bar

The Article has images

Lowering the heroic key requirement to Honored rep was a good thing, in my opinion On the other hand, when you lower the bar, you sometimes get guys like this Maybe the heroic keys should require Exalted rep

Joana's Guide Thoughts and the End of Sango's Journey

2007-10-27 05:04:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

Sadly to say, I've decided to put off leveling my Warlock to test Joana's Guide . I've got other projects that are demanding the majority of my time over World of Warcraft, and I don't really need a sixth high level character The guide works, there's no doubt about it. Class really does not seem to matter at the early levels, and after reading...

E-Z Epics in 2.3 WoW Patch

2007-10-26 16:50:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

...game post-Burning Crusade has always been the PVP gear, so getting a full epic set of Ret gear in case I feel like being able to actually kill something in a timely manner while leveling up is another temptation. Heck, I'm bored with healing anyway, so running instances and raids Ret (which is getting some nice changes in 2.3) may be a...

WoW Paid Name Changes

2007-10-26 16:39:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

Yesterday, Blizzard announced a new paid name change service. The roll out will be in phases across the realms, and the fee for the name change will be $10 For a mere ten dollars, you can get rid of that goofy name you put on an alt that you ended up enjoying and playing For a mere ten dollars, you can get rid of your reputation as a ninja or...

Run World of Warcraft on Linux

2007-08-06 07:03:00 by Marama in Marama's WoW Corner

I was just looking around for some general Linux information today, and found this tutorial about setting up WoW on Linux, on the Ubuntu forums. The tutorial covers setting up WoW using Wine on Ubuntu (though should work for other distros). Make sure you read the comments as well, there's a lot of good stuff in the thread I've been away from...
