Gears of War 2 already in the wild

Just days after the announcement that Gears of War 2 has gone gold, it appears that one lucky so and so already has managed to get himself a copy of the game. Forum poster ‘dreammastah’ over at Neogaf has posted images showing Gears of War 2 running on his Xbox 360. As well as uploading numerous screenshots as proof, the user also set up a live stream of both campaign and horde mode. The 55 uploaded screenshots, showing various multiplayer maps and collectibles, are still available to view here.

Whether the disc in the image above is a review copy, a retail copy, or just an high quality fake is currently unknown. However, judging by the screenshots, videos and achievements, it appears that whatever disc he has is a full working version of Gears of War 2. With the official release date almost a whole month away, Epic Games and Microsoft can’t be too pleased by this news.

Microsoft will never take the train again

Woo, this one is a doozy. Microsoft is seeking $2 million in damages from DHL, and they are not kidding around. Microsoft has already filed the complaint through the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Seattle. But why is Microsoft suing DHL, a simple courier service? Well, a DHL train was carrying two containers that held approximately 21,600 Xbox 360 consoles. And during that trip, Gamepro reports, they sustained quite a bit of damage after the train derailed near Duke, Texas. The damages are unclear, but the court document states that the consoles sustained “impact damage, wetting, pilfering and shortage”.

Pilfering. That’s just unthinkable. As for DHL, they haven’t officially responded, but Microsoft claims that the delivery service refuses compensate for the loss. But it’s ok though, I’m sure that a good number of those consoles escaped the red-ring as result of this. ZING!

Bethesdas Fallout with pirates

No sooner do we announce that Fallout 3 has gone gold than copies of the Xbox 360 version have popped up on the net. With a couple of weeks still to go until release, dirty downloaders are getting their grubby mitts on the game early through a number of Torrent sites. Unsurprisingly, Bethesda isn’t best pleased about it, and is on the track of the culprit.

“We’re looking into it. Since we haven’t sent out a single disc, it greatly reduces the number of places this might have come from,” says Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines. Looks like somebody may be getting an unfriendly knock at their door this weekend.

Pirated copies of Xbox 360 games are becoming an increasing trend with Saints Row 2, NBA 2k9, Blitz: The League and Fracture recently suffering the same fate. Obviously, it’s not something we agree with here at TVGB. We prefer to pay for our games. But how do you feel about it? Spider-Man: Web of Shadows launch trailer is symbio-tastic

Despite what that affront-to-mankind-in-motion-picture-form, Spider-Man 3, may have tried to make you believe, merging with a dreaded symbote doesn't turn you into a mopey jerk with an unfashionable haircut and nightmarish dance moves. We feel that the upcoming Activision web-slinging simulator, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, depicts a much more accurate account of the side-effects of fusion with tar-like alien lifeforms: A widening of the eyes, an elongation of the teeth, and tendrils -- oh, so very many tendrils.

The launch trailer for the aforementioned title, posted above, gives us a good sampling of the symbiotic adversaries we'll be pummeling come Web of Shadows' October 21 release date -- and with a classy touch of Moonlight Sonata to boot. We highly suggest checking it out -- perhaps you'll find some place in your heart that hasn't eternally sworn off games featuring the titular, charismatic wall-crawler.

Left 4 Dead demo coming 'early November'

Yes, we already knew that there would be a demo for Valve's upcoming co-op zombie survival sim, Left 4 Dead. Therefore, we're not terribly surprised by Gabe Newell's comment to Edge that the demo (which will allow one to four survivors to play through an early part of the game's campaign) would be dropping in "early November" -- after all, the game is due out on PC and Xbox 360 on November 18, so a preview period of a couple weeks would have been a logical estimation.

Why, then, would we choose to post on this particular announcement? It's simple, really -- to keep the seemingly inevitable, real-life Zombocalypse at the forefront of your mind. Seriously, it's coming, people. Make your arrangements.

Kung Fu Panda features on Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle

Microsoft has announced at Tokya Game Show that they will be releasing a special Xbox 360 holiday bundle this month. The Xbox 360 Arcade holiday bundle will come with 6 free games, including SEGA Superstars Tennis and 5 Xbox LIVE Arcade games. Xbox 360 Pro and Xbox 360 Elite will come with New Xbox Experience and will feature two free games; LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda.

New Xbox Experience will be launched on 19th November and in addition to community and real-time chat features, it will also allow user to stream movies from Netflix. Microsoft will also be offering free Netflix trials as stated by xbox360fanboy. Xbox 360 Arcade, Xbox 360 Pro and Xbox 360 Elite will cost $199, $299 and $399 respectively.
