When I saw the ESRB listing for Marvel vs. Capcom 2, the first thing that popped into my head was that hopefully the Dreamcast version would finally go down in price.

Plenty of more TGS coverage is still coming out, Dale and Nick check out Japanese culture, Samit talks to the lead designer for Blitz II, and plenty more happened on 10/13/08.

N-Gage Photo Shoot Thoughts

So the N-Gage photo shoot has come to an end, yet the fun is not going to end anytime soon - espically with so much stuff to write and ive also yet speak with an N-Gage PR later tonight, either way its all good fun.

The Picture above (or maybe to the left) is a picture of the main "photo shooting" area, this is where the majority of the magic was made.

So The photo shoot was for a New N-Gage FACE Campaign, basically photos and video expressions are used to promote n-gage devices and games, so my face (which got dolled up by make up) may appear on adverts and billboards across the globe, aswell as website stuff, but thats if one of my pictures is chosen, as alot of different people had their photo and video taken.

In my opinion the photo shoot staff were laid back and very friendly, maybe thats what happens when youve been taking photo's 4 days straight, either way all the staff their were great and we all got along great - was a great laugh.

Well when me, Norman, Colin and Mike got their we were introduced to the majority of the staff, afterwards we watched what was happening and we got told what to do - after a conversation me and norman got our make up done (full works).

We then had our photo snapshots taken - was really fun and hilarious, then we took the video shots, in between shots we kept chatting and playing around with N85 and N96.

After we left we all kept talking about the afternoon and from reaction we assumed that they were surprised by how good we were at posing for the camera, and to be honest i got the same feeling, espically the way they kept saying "hey look at this" - so im quite pleased at the pictures that came out.

To put it blunt it was a great experience and a great laugh, - to be honest i would'nt have minded staying longer but their is still more to come - espically with the conversation with the N-Gage PR later tonight, which should be interesting. Well either way more to come later - most likely tomorrow afternoon, happy gaming!

Art two detour

The Age's Jim Schembri described last year's ABC series Not Quite Art as "the freshest, most illuminating, thoughtful and funny locally-made arts program in years".

Presenter and writer Marcus Westbury certainly has great skill in being able to question cultural norms in a thought-provoking and amusing manner.

Don't miss series two of Not Quite Art, which starts tonight on ABC at 10pm.

It's another insightful journey through an increasingly fragmented cultural landscape, with Marcus noting that the Internet has given all of us a set of cultural choices and influences unimaginable even a decade ago.

If you're very quick (and have extremely good eyesight) you might even be able to spot my brief cameo appearance in the segment on Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw tonight.

Yahtzee is just one of an eclectic bunch of artists, writers, critics and musicians interviewed for the series whose work has found an audience - often in the millions - through networks well outside the traditional ideas of where "Australian culture" lives.

Along the way, Marcus asks deeper questions about what might happen to a society that is gradually losing its set of common cultural reference points.

"When I was a kid," says Marcus, "the cultures I had to choose from were pretty simple. If it wasn't in a book store, a record store, a local gallery or performance centre, something I could find at a video store or read in a magazine, I didn't know about it.

"Kids today have access to virtually all the culture in the world, from comic books to computer games, encyclopaedia and images, to the web as a gallery and reference library to the history of art.

"Our culture is shifting from the hierarchical, local and parochial structures to a global and networked world where Australian artists, musicians, critics and troublemakers have audiences of millions around the world, yet often remain relatively unknown in their local community."

I don't know who's more adorable, Cookie Monster or Elizabeth Blair.

After a false start last week, we're back to talk about the news of the past fourteen days. Even though Jim is gonna be on a plane and even if Linde is too hard at work on BonerQuest to show up, we shall still persevere with the help of Samit Sarkar.

We'll be discussing all the stuff from last week (the new DS, NBA Live 365), along with some new stuff (Molyneux gets humble, Starcraft 2, and so on).

I'll be perusing last week's post for good questions as well as this week's, so if you have something super-awesome you asked last Monday then take comfort in the fact that we will personally read and ignore it before the show starts. For the rest of you, though, feel free to post new questions and Siegelpuns™ in the comments below.

So Here I Am - New York City!

After 12 hours (if not more) of travelling i finally made it to New York City (Big Apple) and what a wounderful city it is, every corner you turn you see a building thats been in a film - but im not here for the sights.

Womworld Website Members (A Blog that posts about the latest N-Series phones and news) invited me and Norman from Symbian World to go to New York City to take part in a new N-Gage Campaign, at the moment the details of the campign are still tight - so i'll find out more later today and hopefully be able to post up my experiences later tonight, but so far its been a fun roller-coaster ride.

So in a weeks time i went from a holiday in spain, to a day home, to a 3-day n-gage trip in america. Can life be anymore fun and interesting than this, well ill definately find out later on, either way heres a few dodgey pictures i took on my N81, enjoy!

Discountoid: Buy 2 get 1 free, cheap Wii accessories and more massive savings!

The giraffe has lost its mind.

Toys R Us is having a HUGE video game sale this week. All games are "Buy 2 get 1 free," including new releases! This includes titles from the website, so you could score a great deal on some games that haven't even been released yet.

Not only are the games on the cheap, Wii accessories are also deeply discounted. You can score 40% off on all sorts of plastic crap for your waggle machine. Now, the promotion excludes Wii Remotes and Nunchuks, which goes against the concept of "all" accessories being on sale, but I'm willing to forgive them. Why? Nintendo Points cards are also part of the promotion! It's like free money!

Meanwhile, the other retailers have pretty lackluster promos going this week by comparison. Circuit City is offering gift cards with purchase of a few of this week's releases and has a "Buy 1 Get 1 50% off" deal running. Target comes to the party a week late by discounting Guitar Hero Aerosmith. And check out Steam today if you want to save 50% on Peggle Deluxe, as that promotion ends tonight.
